The Deadly Consequences of One Lie

We have been to war in this city, and everyone looks the other way. Where are the free mental health services for a community you sent into war? Every day it is a challenge to find any peace. We exist between two crosses -fight and flight. Years later, many of us are just going through the motions. Silently fighting a war inside. Trying to recover from the storm of one lie.

Black Joy Is An Act Of Resistance

For 2022 choose your peace. Find your joy. As Black people, we must put boundaries around our joyful moments and protect them at any cost. Do not continue to allow this world to rob you of your joy. You are free to pursue a life of happiness, which doesn’t require White people’s permission. When you pursue something, you chase after it. It requires that you wake up every day and say, “Today, I will seek out joy. Today I will refuse to let racism rob me of my joy.”

Dear White People, Who Told You It Would Feel Good?

And my question to White people is, “Who told you it would feel good?” (Pause and answer that question. Sit and think about the person who told you it was going to feel good? Have you come up with any name? I want you to really reflect on who told you it was going to feel good.) Who made that promise to you because they told you incorrect information. Let me tell you the truth. Facing you is never easy.

To The Next Breonna Taylor…

I am sorry that this city will not care enough to see you. The sad truth is, as a Black woman, this city never saw you in all your beauty and splendor. This city will only care about you to the extent it can extract something from you, and once they have swallowed you whole, they will gladly spit you back out. This city will never see everything you contributed to this community nor understand how your death left holes that cannot be easily filled with plywood adorned with images of your face. I am sorry that this city never cared enough about Black women to get this moment right. I am sorry this city failed you.

Dear Daniel Cameron, Escalation Tips The Scales of Justice

It was escalation that has changed the very course of his life and the course of this nation. Only a man ignorant of his BLACK history would dare speak about justice not being achieved through escalation.  I would advise Daniel and this state to accept that your life will never be business as usual again. Until there is justice for Breonna Taylor we will continue our escalations until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.

The Breonna Taylor Incident Report Is A Slap In The Face to ALL Black Women

THIS REPORT WAS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO ALL BLACK WOMEN! This report was another way of killing the legacy of Breonna Taylor over and over again. Every single day we fight and wait for justice. But justice too long delayed is often justice denied. Because every day, this city reminds Black women that our lives do not matter. Our lives matter so little, the police can kill us, lie on an incident report, and put that bullshit incident report out in the media without batting an eye. There is absolutely no fucking accountability!
